Has anyone switched from reef crystals to Fritz salt I'm planning to do that I have been using reef crystals for a long time.

After switching did you notice any difference significantly?

Thx

I have done this. I really like the fritz over reef crystals. It's always mixed consistently, and I haven't noticed any buildup on my pump or heater like I did with reef crystals.

I went from RC to Fritz because I liked the parameters. I found I had a really hard time keeping my alk stable using Fritz, no matter how much I tested and adjusted my dosing pumps. I don't have an explanation for that. Now I use Kent and have no problem keeping my alk in line. I do have to dose Mg though (didn't before). I may go back to RC at some point for that reason.

Are your parameters same after switch or did you see a difference? Thx

I have used 4 different salts ( IO, RC, Fritz and Tropic Marin Pro) over 4 months. No problems switching at all.

I used Fritz for about a year and could never keep my Mg under 1800 so I switched to IO.

Been using Fritz for about a year.

Eh. It works... mixes up clean, parameters mix up to a reasonable level.

I switched because my LFS has it in stock, and it's cheaper than having another brand delivered.

I used Reef Crystals for 4 yrs. and had a very successful mixed reef tank. It's a very good salt. But a little over a year ago, I decided to go SPS dominant and had to get the alk down. My alk always ran 11-12 using RC. So I switched to Fritz and lowered my alk to 8. Fritz also lowered my mag which always tested at 1500 with RC. Other than lower alk and mag, there was no difference in my reef from switching. About 3 months ago, I decided to go with Red Sea blue bucket. I've also been happy with it.

I can honestly say that I haven't noticed any difference at all in my corals from either of those salts. Growth and colors have been good with all 3. The corals just want stable parameters and don't seem to mind which salt I use. Good luck with the switch. You'll be fine. ;Cat

I switched to Fritz from plan IO. Couldn't keep my calcium below 500 or my magnesium below 1500. I ended up switching not because of that but because if I heated my water up before a water change I got a significant amount of precipitation and cloudy water.

Now use Brightwell Neomarine and am very happy with it.
