When I first built my tank I made an overflow box and siliconed it to the back of the tank. Within the box I had made it "silent" by adapting the standard "Beans" system, requiring all the pvc elbows to be in the box within the tank. I now have recently made a upgraded replacement DIY "slim" style overflow box which "requires" another outside box. After planing, cutting, glueing and building both boxes, I was talking to a friend and he told me that if I were to switch to the new style inside box that I would not have to use the outside box. Seeing how I already have my gravity, full-siphon and fail-safe drained already mounted to the bulkheads. Input? As you can see, it has been inspected as well.

Thanks,
Ernie

Well, seeing how it will be basically the same, just without all the PVC hardware. I decided to just remove what I had inside the existing box...Wala! Had to make a few adjustments to the supply line valves, no problem. It's just That I haven't touched anything since I put it up except the occasional stuck snail and has been a while since I polished out the physics when first building it. Going to switch it out after the first. Can't wait!
