I am switching up my 22g tank that has been up for 2 years to a 10g tank for multiple reasons. I plan on putting a lot of my SPS in the new build and selling the bulk of my other corals. My question is - is it going to cause problems to use a new scape like STAX or VidaRock in the display, if I transfer over all the same water and matured bio-media that have been in my AIO chambers?

As I see it, there shouldn't be any spikes in ammonia or nitrites because I will have plenty of the same, mature bacteria colonies moving over in the bio-media. And if the rocks come properly cured (which they both advertise to be), then that shouldn't cause any spikes in phosphates.

Shouldn't be a problem, though less water volume is more work to keep stable.
