So currently, my tank is a VERY small tank. It's around 16 gallons, and I use a HOB filter, and it's been going great. However, I wanted to upgrade to a tank that is slightly bigger. Looking for a 20-40 gallon. I would like to know what you guys recommend for filters, cause i don't want to break my bank purchasing a sump, or an all in one.

Welcome to R2R!

Have you looked into a used setup? I bought an established RSR170 for a great price.
Hey thanks for welcoming me.
the other thing is that i have a 30 gallon tank just sitting in my house. So i wanted to use it. So to answer your question not really looking to purchase another tank.

Yep, like Peter said used setup will save you huge. 20-40G new tank will run you upward of $400-800 depend on build, while some local used 100-200G will cost you the same price.

Also wait for Petco 50% sale, 75G for $105 good price.

Still look for used equipment on this and local sites. Make sure to ask if new or used, how old, and why selling. Looking for that seller that is upgrading or leaving hobby.
