So I'm switching my 20 gallon long to a 20 gallon tall bare bottom. Will my tank have a mini cycle if I switch and get rid of all the sand? The filter has a bunch of marine pure in it and that will be transferring over to the new tank. Will that stop the new tank from cycling over? I'm also using all the same live rock.
Thanks in advance.

If you’re just moving the rocks and marine pure blocks over to the new tank you will not need to cycle your new tank again.
Thank you. I was hoping it wouldn't recycle after removing the thin sandbed I had

agreed, simply transfer or setup zero clouding.

rinse rocks in saltwater as you move them, so no stuck detritus transfers.

it wil 100% skip cycle pls post pics of this/update so I can link your work to a specific skip cycle remove sandbed thread. its 33 pages of jobs just like your upcoming one.

I did this. Siphon as much water as you can without disturbing the sand bed, move everything out. Then shop vac the sand out. Don't let your live rock sit out of water.

I put all the rock and fish in a big tub while I'm doing the switch. I did use the old water in the tub.
