Hi all,
So up till now i have been using NSW for my reef tank dominated mainly with sps corals. I have decided to switch to mixing my own slat using an ro/di unit which i recently purchased. My question now is which salt should i use. I have heard that RSCP salt is very good for accelerating coral growth and i'm not someone who really doses my tank so the higher level of elements does entice me. I have also head good stuff from aquaforest probiotic salt. Also if i were to use RSCP salt how would i go about doing water changes as the element levels will be much higher than whats in my tank right now?
Thanks all

Every brand has different levels so depends on what your method will be for dosing or waterchange schedule. Some like instant ocean and dose more cheaper salt and more dosing. Some like more expensive salts with more trace mins. Less dosing. Every tank is different. Small waterchanges at first check levels. Small changes in this hobby is almost always best.

Some say if there’s higher levels in the water you get faster growth. I doubt this.
Salt is salt. Some like RSCP add higher CA and Alk (I use RSCP) and some use IO.
If you want accelerated coral growth, keep your water parameters on point and stable at all times.
Get one that you have easy access too and matches your desired levels as closely as permits.
