I bought a Sybon refractometer from LFS. It didn't come with the ultra pure water. I tried to go to their website (www.sybontec.com) but it doesn't exist. Anyone know anything about this company and/or where I can get some ultra pure water to recalibrate?

You can use any calibration fluid designed for a refractometer. They work better than super pure water which would basically be zero TDS RO/DI water. Calibration fluids are closer to saltwater so will be more accurate in the range we need than RO/DI is.

Where do I get it?

I am late to this thread. I found it because I am having a problem with my Sybon refractomer and was trying to figure out how to contact the company. I don't believe anything it tells me about my salinity. I think my 30 year old Instant Ocean hdrometer is more reliable. Mine did come with the 1.0000 solution. I tuned the refractor with the provided solution, then used it to measure the salinity of bulk reef supply 1.026 solution. It measured 1.029. I have the Instant Ocean hydrometer, the Hanna salinity/temperature probe and this Sybon and still don't really know the salinity of my tank!
