Hey Guys! So I recently purchased a Syncra Silent pump for my Red Sea REEFER 250 and after a couple months I can say that this thing is everything BUT Silent. I’ve already contacted them and they offered to send me a new one but I’m just really frustrated with how loud this thing is. On a positive note I must say that I have been extremely pleases with the customer service. I accidentally threw away my suction cups and the immediately sent me a new ones. I’ll have an update out shortly. PLEASE let me know your experiences on this pump!

Is something stuck in it? I would check the impeller blades to see if anything is rubbing inside the housing. That's super nice of Sicce to send you a new pump, I probably won't get that sort of service with my Jebao if it ever goes out ;)

I've got the Syncra Silent 3.0 and if it wasn't for the water level in my display i'd swear it wasn't running. I hear my skimmer, but the syncra is dead silent. Unfortunately with how many they produce there's always going to be defects, there's no way around it. But it looks like they're sending you a new one so no worries :)

I run a 4.0 and only get some slight vibration exchange. I do have a piece of soft silicone running to my hard plumbing however... do you have your hard plumbed directly to the pump? Are you hearing the pump it self or vibration?

I did this as well, I have about a 4 or 5 inch piece of rubber hose before it goes to the nipple on my pvc hard plumbing.

A/C pumps like Sicce are quiet compared to say, a Rio. But they are not truly silent. If you want a truly silent pump, go with a D/C controllable pump. I have a Jebao D/C and I literally cannot tell that it is on unless I look at the locline nozzles to see the water coming out.
Also, make sure there is no air trapped in your pump. Turn it inlet side up while under water and give it a good shake to make sure no air bubbles are inside. That is one thing that happens that will make an otherwise quieter pump noisy.
