Synergy reef overflow

Has anyone used the new synergy reef shadow over version 2.
I heard some not so great reviews about version 1 and was wondering if these have improved?

I recently was looking into this! A member on here told me the v1 was better than the new v2. I heard a lot of great things about the modular marine overflow you should check them out as well.
