Synergy Reef Shadow overflow noise

I am curious what I can do to quiet this down. I have alot of noise coming from the internal box as water goes through the wier. I use a Gyre pump which moves a good amount of water on the surface so that adds to the noise, however even with the gyre off or pointed into the tank there is still a good amount of noise.

It came with 2 different wiers but I see no physical difference in them - maybe I need to try the other?

I’ve found the best way is raise the water level in the overflow box by raising the secondary drain height.

Exactly right. You need to raise the water level in the external box so it is about 2/3 of the way up the connecting bulkheads. That mostly eliminates the splashing sounds in the internal skimm box.
