Synergy Shadow Overflow V1 leaking. Change or repair?

I have the original shadow overflow from Synergy and have noticed that there is now a small leak that has appeared around the seal where it penetrates the glass. I'm assuming this is a gasket problem and not a crack, but I can't be 100% sure because there is no way to see behind the box. Question is: Has anyone had this leak and was it the gaskets wearing out? If so, can the gaskets be replaced or would you just change to V3?

Bonus question: Is the V3 weir level the same as the original?

I would try to repair it if you can. If not, change to the newer v3 model.
