Synergy Shadow

Question for the people that are using the Synergy Shadow Overflow. Im looking to get a new tank and considering using the synergy overflow. What is your opinions of the overflow? Would you prefer it over an internal center overflow box or would you prefer a center overflow instead? Thx

Also, after reading several post I see many people prefer the Modular MarIne Overflow. The tank im looking to by is from SC Aquariums and is predrilled for a Synergy Shadow 16". Does anyone know if a Modular MarIne Overflow would be compatible ? Or are the hole spacing different? Thx

I had the same question. The overflows from Modular Marine do not fit. However, they will custom make one for an extra $35 above the regular price that will fit.

I have a tank from SCA drilled for a Senergy however I used Exotic Marine over flow. The EM overflow will fit the hole paternities of the Senergy

While i have a synergy shadow ready to install, I read amazing things about modular marine.
I would probably go with them if i had a 2nd chance to choose.

I have a shadow in my garage I never used. I cannot speak for it as I used it. However, a big complaint for most is they went to injection molding. It makes it looks seamless and nice. However, flimsy and easy to break.

The next tank I do will be a reef savvy. If money isn’t a total obstacle i’d put in a quote for a reef savvy ghost overflow. Second to none IMO.

Synergy does market their shadow v2 overflow as "indestructable."

I have a new tank, just wet last weekend with the mod marine box, I think it’s the way to go, but had to get the custom option

I have a shadow overflow installed on my frag tank. If I were to do again, probably go with Modular Marine.

Buy...I upgraded my entire system to include my overflow and got the version 2 around April/May timeframe...Once it is tuned in, You can hear your Fish fart before you DO NOT hear water running down the pipes to your sump...pure silence... (made in May)...section was upgraded again...
