Synergy Sumptacular Giveaway

Officially, the drawings never end on time. They can be up to a few weeks late.

Unofficially: I won. Thanks @mdbannister !

WTS: Sump, PST.

That's because you have 24 hrs to reply so this thread brings allot of hits from people checking to see if they won from the official end till they actually draw.

I wish it was that calculated (that actually would be a slick strategy, but we'd honestly never intentionally do that to you guys). It's really just an issue of sometimes forgetting that a contest ends on a particular day or getting overwhelmed with things that need to get done...and occasionally (like in this one), I'm sick or unavailable for some unforeseen reason. I know, not an exciting excuse...

Here's my basic way of handling the drawings for contests so that there's no question on it:

1) I try to draw a winner on the day after a contest ends (that way everyone has the full entry period through the last day).
  • So for example, this contest's official last day to enter was December 18th (two days ago), which means that under normal circumstances, I would have drawn the winner yesterday at some point.
2) I always honor the cutoff date stated in the original post (even if I'm several days late with the drawing), and since our official R2R time is EST, I use midnight on the east coast as the timestamp to end the last day for the drawing entries.

3) The winner is randomly selected from the valid entries posted.

4) We announce the winner and give them 48 hours to contact us to claim the prize.

5) If the prize goes unclaimed, we redraw based on the original valid entries (so new entries are not added after the official cutoff time for redraws either).

HTH :)

I had no issue with it.. It was smart if you did it for that reason.
