I just switched out the t-5 lighting in my 75 . I have a 6 bulb unit. And can keep and grow SPS in it. I decided to switch out bulbs due to the fact that i dont remember if its been a yr or not Lol. And im trying to get the upper hand in my Hair alge battle. ( Cheato growing like mad, new bulbs ,Skimmer running Nonstop)

Now for the question. I used to have 10k bulbs But i thought the tank looked a lil to yellow for me. SO all i could find from Foster n Smith Was 12k Actinic white. Will these preform the same as the 10 but just be a lil blue in color ? I kept one 10k in Just for growth also.
Aquarium Lighting: Actinic White 12000°K T-5 HO Fluorescent Tubes

As for actinic I used super actinic bulbs. Seem to be good to me. Very Blue and good price too.
Aquarium Lighting: Super Actinic 420nm T-5 HO Fluorescent TubesSo i just noticed the actinic white was a 50/50 bulb...... Should i return them and just get the 10k like i had before ? Or would my coral growth and color be just fine with what i have ?

I have a six bulb fixture and I have gone thru the same problem as I always used 10k and 12k bulbs. My new bulb combo I love, it is blue looking but also bright. I put four ATI Blue Plus on the outside spots and two ATI Coral Plus in the middle. My Aquarium is a Peninsula so you might want to move the bulbs around to find the look you like.

Giesemann 3 aqua blue 2 actinic plus and 1 true actinic. Also depends on the look you like whiter or blue. This Combo will be clean white add replace one aqua blue with actinic plus for blue look.
