I have a 24" T-5 bulb fixtures I'm about to hang over a 20L and the bulbs still have a little while before the need replacing but want opinions on bulbs for best growth and visual apperance. the two center bulbs are on one swith and the other 4 on both sides are on a seperate switch. Like in the diagram below

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
oooooooooooooooo
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
-----------------------
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
oooooooooooooooo
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If that makes since the x's are on one swith and the o's on another and the -'s are led moonlamps. I'm going to put this fixture on a dual timer and just curious what would give me the best dusk to dawn effect.

Thanks for opinions.

I just did mine with a 50/50 mix of ATI Aquablue Special and ATI Blue Plus and I love it, gives a nice crisp 14k look.

What are you keeping in your tank? I agree with bulb combo above but if you are just keeping LPS, you could likely get away with a little less PAR. If you have any SPS at all, then the bulb combo mentioned above would be perfect.

They are a bit different. I prefer the KZ bulb but others prefer the Purple + - just depends on preference : )

Me I would go

Blue+
Blue +
Blue Special
Blue +
Fiji purple
Blue +

I really like blue + and Fiji purple as actinics you could go all blue + and move Fiji purple to middle. I like KZ super blue too if you want to mix 2 x blue + and 2 kz super blue

Thanks guys that was alot of response fast I know I've got a couple of months left on my current bulbs but was wanting to get an idea of what I'd be looking for when I get ready to replace bulbs. I know there is alot of LPS Corals that I like, but eventually I'd like to get a few SPS after tank ages a little and planning on keeping a few Zoa's and softies down low in lower light area's. Thanks for the quick response.

Not to hijack but do you guys think this combo would work on my 6' fixture 6 39w bulbs on each side??? I'm probably ordering tonight or tomorrow!! Also, what's the recommended place for ordering bulbs??
