T-5 problems
I've been running t-5's for around 5 years without any problems. I came home to no light, and a tripped gfi. Ice cap 660 Ballast, end caps, 4 bulbs. I switched bulbs around with old bulbs., plugged it all fired then went out. Changed Ballast still the same thing, changed wire harness #1 and 3 fire then go out. Originally all fired and went off now just 1 and 3. Not sure that changed after I changed the Ballast or the harness. The only thing I haven't changed is the end caps.
Any thoughts?

If you got a ohm meter, check continuaity(spell check) on all your pair of wires. You may have a bad connection somewhere in the wiring. Of course unplug from the wall before trying this.

If having a problem getting continuaity through the bulbs, use a short piece of wire to make a bridge with the connections inside the each endcap.

Thanks I checked all continuity and it checked out, that was before I changed the harness. I will have to check again.

Gfi is good, I have a pump on it. I also used a regular outlet when I was working on it off the tank.

After much frustration and pulling my hair out I have found that the new ballast is bad! It did give me the opportunity to fix some fans and clean up the wiring in the hood. Thanks for the responses.

Right on. Good stuff. Glad you were able to it down.
