I thinking about running T-5's on my next tank. It seems that every tank I see containing a lot of LPS has the most wonderful colors under T-5's, . If you had one T-5 fixture to throw over your tank either 36" or 48" which one would it be, don't worry about cost, just what do you consider to be the best T-5 fixture available in the hobby today and why?

Aquatinics Solar Flare! It uses IceCap ballasts, meaning you are getting the highest quality ballast there is, and the most light.

I made my own fixture, and it uses 2 ice cap ballasts as well, I could not be happier!

Thanks! I appreciate the feedback

Solarflare, powermodule or stealth. I do like the new giesemann though....What am I talking about....I would buy some 20K radiums and vho's :D

I'm curious to see the new Fauna/GHL Star Fire Extreme fixture...dimmable ballasts with LED "shimmering effect" OR "moonlight effect."

Until that comes out for real, I like the units listed above... except I don't think you can get the Solar Flare in a 10 bulb unit... the Stealth goes up to 12! (on my mind b/c my new tank is 36" wide)

I have the Tek5, 48" 6 bulb unit over my 75, which is predominately SPS and Clams, with some LPS. I love the light. I'm able to keep even the highest light demanding Acropora under this light. The color it brings out in corals will be totally dependent on the bulbs you choose.
