It's not actually. My LFS is The Fish Tank. That rug you are talking about is the carpet of the break room there.

Well I finally got confirmation that my lid from Artfully Acrylic was shipped out yesterday and I should have it by Tuesday which will be exactly 6 weeks ago that I ordered it. I hope it arrives all intact and the custom cutouts were all done right.

After thinking about it for a few weeks now, I've decided that I want to make my own manifold and redo my plumbing from scratch. I want to do away with my separate chiller pump and run everything off of just one pump. I also want to try the Avast Marine Spyglass reactors as those are the ones I wanted originally. The AquaMaxx ones work good, but they are a pain when you need to change the media in them. So I've been collecting everything I need to redo the plumbing and now I finally have everything. I'm going with 1 inch piping for main line and half inch for the reactors. I also got 2 of the small Spyglass reactors and a Vectra L1 pump. Let fun and headaches begin lol.

Haha so far it's a pain, idk about it being fun lol. I ended up cracking the Red Sea fitting. I think I used to much teflon tape, it think it was over 15 wraps, and used some channel locks to tighten it a little more and then noticed it cracked. Luckily I have a spare Red Sea fitting and I already ordered another one just in case. Going to try again tonight if I have time and see what happens.

Finally cleaned up my sump and finished the plumbing, love it! Now to get these reactors online.

Actually I do @Broadfield I think a piece is broken. Can you show me a pic of under the silencer? Here is my issue in the pic.

I called EcoTech, they are sending me a whole new silencer right away, I love EcoTech customer service. For the time being I will just super glue it back together and hopefully it will be ok. Do you have any pointers as to how to dial this thing in @Broadfield?

Well I superglued the piece that was broken off the silencer of the skimmer and plugged it in. I called EcoTech and they are sending out a replacement silencer right away, I love there customer service. I was shocked to see after just a couple hours it was already producing skimate. And to top it all off this thing is stupid quiet. This now makes my whole tank near silent and I love it.

This Nyos Quantum 160 is the best skimmer I've ever had in this hobby. I still can't get over how quiet it is let alone all the nasty crud it pulls out. I highly recommend this skimmer to anyone looking to upgrade or try something new.

I recently decided to put some Marine Pure blocks in place of the black bubble trap. I removed to bubble trap a long time ago when I had my Reef Octopus skimmer but had to put it back in when I got the Nyos skimmer because of all the micro bubbles. It soon became a nitrate factory and no matter how many water changes I did, it didn't seem to help lower them. The nitrate problem seems to have gone way down so so I'm hoping this helped correct it and it stays this way. Only time will tell.

I love a clean sump. I don't know how some people keep these so clean, mine will be dirty again in a week lol.
