Your corals should be happy with any one of the choices though.

ok guys i had to decide. went with 4 Blue+, 1 Coral+, Purple+. i may be stopping by a LFS tomrw and might pick up something else just to play with colors. Next question is the height of the fixture over the tank. my tank is 4'x2'x 12"high

The reason I don't like walking into an electronics store is that there are too many choices. I am sort of feeling the same about T5 lamps. May I have a suggestion? I am running a 400W 20K radian MH over a 36" wide by 30" front to back by 27" tall tank in a Hamilton fixture that also has 4 - T5 lamps. I also have a BML Super Actinic LED fixture in front of the Hamilton fixture. The tank is in startup mode with no critters yet. To be honest, I think the tank colors look really great right now without turning on the T5's but once populated, I probably won't run the MH all day long and the BML LED fixture is probably not enough alone to run. I have some T5's running now and have several combo's already tried but they look a bit too blue gray to me. With 4 T5 lamps that may or may not run at the same time with the MH but will most likely run with the LED actinic, what 4 lamps would you recommend?
