First off, I am sure I am overthinking this, lol.

I have an eight bulb Sunpower running bulbs in this order front to back:

B+
B+
Act (Dusk/Dawn)
C+
P+
B+ (Dusk/Dawn)
B+
Act

I am 90% happy with this, but coming up on bulb replacement time and wouldn't mind a very slightly more blue look so I thought about swapping an actinic with another B+. Problem is I can't figure out the best order. I originally put an actinic right at the back because that bulb is basically over my overflow and the very back of the rockwork. I could just simply swap the forward actinic with a B+ and be done with it but then the front of the tank won't get much (or any) actinic spectrum. I considered moving the rear actinic to the dusk dawn spot and put a blue over the overflow but I am wondering if I will get a lot more algae growth in the overflow? I do notice the bulbs have about the same amount of green spectrum.

Thanks for any help.

That looks like a great combo of bulbs.. I would think changing the center actinic to a B+ will have more effect than changing the end actinic with a B+ On the over all blueness of your tank.. have blue over your overflow shouldn’t necessarily promote more algae growth

I agree.

So it would probably look like this:

B+
B+
B+
C+
P+
Act
B+
B+

That kind of clumps them together by color though, but it probably doesn't matter? I guess another option would be:

B+
C+
B+
B+
P+
Act
B+
B+

But wouldn't look as blue. I guess I won't know until I try it.
