so what color in corals does each bulb make better or highlight?

Blue +

Blue Special

Fiji Purple -- I know this one highlights the pinks

what say yah?

I'd think that the AquaBlue Special is more of a grow bulb than an attempt to bring out colors. Just my thought. :)

the blue + will bring out alot of the colors blue, green, yellow, etc

Blue special is a daylight bulb prob close to 12K

the fiji purple IMO brings out reds and orange and all the different shades. If you have a 6 or more bulb fixture I highly recommend running a fiji bulb

depending on what color tank you like, the FP or Purple+ is an option even with 4 bulbs. The AB Special is more than a grow bulb, it does have actinic phosphors and is a good all around bulb especially if you don't like too blue a look to your tank.

Great question. Interested in hearing responses. Our blue is too blue and the 'regular' lights just make our tank look like crap.

this is my current bulb combo. I find this combo to work the best for me.

- ATI Blue + (normal)

I run the same combo as Marvin does and i find that i can grow med to low light corals but i do not overdrive any of my bulbs and i have been running this combo for over 2 years now. And i am not saying i can't grow higher light corals and i do but only have limited space for them up high most of my rock work is low. I get great color and great growth with this combo also Marvin how is the Rainbow Acro you got from me at the lansing swap doing in your tank is it coloring up nice for you and thanks for the great trade on that chalice of your she is doing great in my tank.

I run:
ATI B+
ATI Purple+
ATI AB Special
ATI B+
ATI AB Special
ATI B+

I run these in an ATI fixture and there is nothing that i can't keep, including clams and SPS down on the sandbed (tank is 25" tall and fixture is 8" above that) I don't like too blue a tank, my tank would be closer to 14K

Bingo

On my Display I run:

4 Blue+
3 Blue special
1 Fiji purple

I may trade out 1 of the Blue special for a
Blue+ but I'm still on the fence on that one

On my Frag tank I run 4 Blue+ it looks OK but is very blue.
(not really a problem since it more for growing than display.)

blue plus act like acctinic's and also add blueto the tank, the special's are more white.
