Hey guys so I'm trying to figure out my lights because I am getting coral soon. I have a T5 ho fixture that is 25ft long that holds 4 blubs. I have one white, two actinic blues and nothing else. I plan on keeping Sps dominant on top and then softs that requires little light on the bottom. I have my light 7 inches from the water and 4 inches from the rocks. If I should switch the blubs out for a different kind I will. I will note that I like at least a little white not all just blue. Just because I'm not a fan of just all blue. Please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Brandon. Welcome to R2R. I'm sure you don't mean 25ft but if you want a look that is a mix of blue and white, I would go with 2 ATI blue plus and 2 ATI coral plus or similar bulbs if you choose another brand. 7 inches from the water should be fine when it comes to T5s.

And okay awesome! Do you think that light will be bright enough to be growing Sps?

Definitely. T5s are great for growing SPS corals. The good thing is if you don't like the way those bulbs look, you can always try different combinations.

I just searched them online and the price for bulbs is expensive. 20 bucks for just one bulb?

Wow eh. A year ago I just had a little 10 gallon tank and thought that was expensive. Now I have a 60g and it starts to add up.
