So I am changing up the lighting on my tanks. I want to have similar settings on both tanks. I have a 4'x2'x2' 120gal. I have ordered a 48" Aquatic life Hybrid ordered with a Kessil AP700. The second tank is 30"x18"x24" 56 gallon. I have ordered a 24' Aquatic Life Hybrid with a Radion XR15. Both fixtures will have ATI Blue+,Purple+,Coral+,Blue+ bulbs. I have been running a 12 hour light cycle.

I have read where some people will start with the led then have the t5 come on later. I have been running the AP700 for about 18 months. I have had it set to the darkest blue. Would that need to be lightened up since I will have the blue t5s?

FWIW I just installed the hybrid on my tank yesterday with 2 Blue+ and 2 Coral+ and don't let the name fool you they aren't very blue. They're very white so I don't think you'll run into too much blue.

What LED are you running?

I agree on Blue+ not being very blue, I run 3 of them along with 1 actinic and still crank my LED blues to 80% with whites only running around 15-20%.

Never had a Radion before. It said on their site it could cover 30". It is a 30" tank so I am hoping that with the t5 one will be enough.

What size is your tank?

I've got a 6ft 125 gallon tank. I had the three XR15s mounted on the long RMS rail and I rented a par meter and was disappointed in the par I was getting so I decided to try the hybrid. My rock isn't overly tall in most spots so most corals are rather deep. I need to rent the par meter again to do some tuning but I literally just got it installed yesterday. May try and add some rock in places if my par is still lower but hoping with the T5s the par would bump up as well as help with some shading. With just 3 XR15s there was some definite shading in spots.

Nice looking tank. I had the Kessil AP700 on my 120. Right under the lights I get 250 par. Down toward the bottom I get 50-100 par. The only thing I am worried about is I have around 100 corals that are doing great. Now that they are getting bigger I am getting a lot of shadowing. I hope I can get them acclimated with out much lost.
