so ive recently put up my aquatic life t5/led combo. I love everything about it especially since i can now incorporate t5s into the picture but i feel my t5 combo is a little too white for my taste. I currently have my bulb combo at blue+ coral+ blue+ coral+ ( back to front). Is there anything else combo wise i could try to take a little more of the white away while still benefiting the coral. (Planning sps dominant).

Add reef brites. If you just want to add blue you don't have to get XHOs if you're on a budget but they would be the best. There isn't much you can do otherwise. I'm guessing this is your 100g rimless. What do you have for LEDs?

I have no budget. I def dont need to add reefbrite leds . Not asking to add adittional lights. Im juat asking for a better t5 combo. Im running 2 hydra 26 hd’s and two blue+ and 2 coral+.

If you have Hydras I would just shut down the white channels on them to get the color you want. Or run them with your normal program and only supplement with bulbs that are not white like actinic, b+ etc.

If I were you I would run B+ (Or equivalent), super actinic (geisemann bulb), LEDS, super actinic, B+ (Or equivalent).

+1 on shutting down white channels on Hydras. IMO b+,c+,b+,c+ is an pretty ideal combo for a 4 bulb setup. What are your % settings for blue and royal channels on the Hydras?

I'm also running 4xT5 and hydra 26hds(3) . Whats your schedule ? Personally, I have 2 B+ on for 10hrs and the 2 C+ on for 6 hrs, (front to back B+C+C+B+)The Hydras ramp up for 4 hours, peak for 5hr and then ramp down. So all lights are on for only 5 hrs (at peak %).Looks pretty good after the C+ go off, I'm really only using them for coverage and growth. You could go with all B+ or 3 B+ and a P+. Really depends on how your Hydra's are set. I'm peaking mine with all channels at or near 100% except the whites, they peak about 80 , but like I said peak is "only" 5 hrs. By the time I'm home from work the ramp down is starting and the C+ are shutting off.

I also agree. I only said B+ or similar and Actinic or similar assuming they would leave the hydras the same.

Biggest issue I know of in ticking off sps inder LEDs is messing with them.

The diffuse light source from the T5s will influence your tank color more than the LEDs in my experience. I'd recommend changing one or both coral plus bulbs to blue plus bulbs depending on your preference for tank color (personally I run 4 blue plus bulbs- even adding in one coral plus bulb makes the tank whiter than I prefer). If you want still less white, then try turning down your non blue channels on the LEDs.

I second the 2 blue and 2 true actinic. That will not only look amazing visually, but fill in the generally weak 380-440 nm deficiency most light sources have.
