I have an Oceanic Illuminata 57 that I want to buy a T5 fixture for and would like some opions and suggestions. The new fixture will be replacing 2 AI Sol BLue fixtures (AI sol fixtures and coltroller are for sale. Email if interested). The tank dimentions are L 36 x W 18 x H 21. I have LPS and zoas right now but would like to add some SPS.

I was looking into either an ATI Sunpower or an ATI Powermodule. Any opions on either?

I would like a dimmable fixture in order to use it with my Neptune Apex. I would also like some opinons on if a 4 bulb fixture is enough or should I go with a 6 bulb fixture.

Any comments and/or suggestions are much appreciated!

I would go with a 6 bulb if you want to keep sps plus you can get better color combo with the 2 extra bulbs!

Pretty sure the powermodule was discontinued, but it still may be available at a couple stores.

I have a 6 bulb sunpower over my 90 and I love it. I couldn't imagine how much better a fixture could get. When I was in the market, I couldn't justify the extra money for the power modual.

Is a 6 bulb just too much for my 57? Or is a proper amount?

Also look at the Tek fixtures. You could easily handle SPS with a 6 bulb Tek or Tek elite. Plus you save a ton of dough if that appeals to you.

Since I have an Neptune Apex, I want a dimable fixture.

Unfortunately, rumor has it that Sunlight Supply is getting out of the Aquatic business, choosing to concentrate on Agricultural and Commercial. I'm really hoping the rumor is wrong. All mention of Aquarium Lighting has been removed from their website though.

If you can still find them, I believe the newer Sunlight Supply Tek5 Elite fixtures are dimmable.

So I think I have decided on an ATI sunpower 6 bulb fixture. I have a mixed reef, only a few SPS but have many zoas and a few chalices. So my question now is.... My tank is 36" wide, should I go with a 36" fixture, or a 24"? since it will be a 6 bulb.

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
