I have ask many t5 questions over the last few weeks, thank to all the people on reef2reef y'all have been very helpful!

My new question is, what is the difference between the retro fixture t5 on the online stores and the t5 fixture that I can buy at Home Depot. It seem that the Home Depot would work pretty good to me! I've only been in the hobby for one year and I have LEDs on my 75 gallon. Just want a few people to give me their opinion. Thanks

I think it mostly comes down to the reflectors and ballasts are much better with a quality retrofit. One thing you learn in this hobby is that most of the time, it is worth it to spend the extra money and buy a quality piece of equipment to begin with, otherwise after a while you become frustrated or disappointed in the cheaper one, and then you end up buying the better one anyway.

Go with ATI fixture! Here's a few reasons why. Don't buy from Home Depot bro.

High-end components!!!

Produce 50% more light than most fixtures the same size.

Individual Parabolic-style Reflectors made from Silver-coated 98% Reflective Aluminum.

Active Cooling System. Runs cool and produces virtually no noise.

Built-in Electronic Ballasts.

Acrylic Shield.

10-foot Power Cords.

Sleek, Adjustable 'Griplock' Style Hanging Kit.

Body is lightweight, durable, rust-proof.

Most components, including the T5 ballasts, are enclosed inside the fixture housing.

Wired with two bulbs on one power cord and remaining bulbs on the other, allowing for independent control and dawn/dusk simulation.
