T5 Retrofit Kit - Supplement LEDs

I am looking to supplement my current 6ft custom led fixture with 2 80 watt t5's. I was looking at the LET retrofit kit from Reef Geek. My tank doesn't have a canopy and I would like to utlize my conduit hanging kit that is currently on my tank.

So my question is can you hang the retrofit kits? How would I mount the end caps? Am I better off just getting a Hamilton Aruba Sun and hanging that (not really in favor of this)?

Any advice or help would be great.

What you would have to do is mount the reflector, then have lamp clips to hold the lamps in the reflectors, and those would hold the end caps in place also.

Ok, to sum up when you put it all together it will stay.

Does anyone know if these reflectors come with clips?

They don't have a 5 foot kit.

They come with the clips. I have these and they are awesome.

Are there any holes on top of reflectors where I could add a wire for hanging?

There is a hole for the clips to screw and bolt in, But there are holes in the escape offset

You think 1 blue+ or 1 blue+ and purple+? Essentially two bulbs or one?

Just trying to getting a little more color out of Sps.

What size tank? 1 bulb on small would but I would go with at least. But may have to lower your other lights so not to burn coral

Tank is 72x18x24 tall. I am currently running custom built nanobox leds.

If u r just using it for color I would do a blue plus and purple plus. Just a heads up that ur edges will not get much light. I wish I would have went with 8 36" . Your case 4 36" but probably won't look good without a canopy. So just thought I would give u a heads up on he spread.

Yeah I know. I have a feeling this is just a intermediate between scraping LEDs all together. :squigglemouth:

I def like the t5 supplements. Makes the tank look great. And 4 raises my water approx. 2 degrees about 12" awl. Good luck and let us know what u decide and show us some pics.
