t5 supplementation tips

currently running fluval marine 3.0 leds on my 40g long tank. i recently received a free t5 fixture and i just need to get a bulb. it only holds 1 bulb, and i’m trying to figure out what bulb i should get?? no clue where to start. atinic, blues, what do i do???

What is going to be in the tank? That kind of coral (zoas, softies, lpe, sps)? I'm not familiar with the led fixture. How many watts and how many leds and the blue to white ratio?

Corals use more blue spectrum than any other, that's where I'd start. Add it in behind the leds and it can make the back of the tank more blue and actually make it look deeper (front to back) than it really is. I did the same think with a second led fixture and only run the blues.
