Looking to add a single 36" t5 bulb to my canopy. Cant find the wiring diagram online to use a single bulb. I've tried this current config (see pic) but have no luck. Ballast and bulb are new, bulb has no burn marks at end.

I've looked at another ballast at home depot to see if thier wiring diagram looked the same, and its not. This one particular ballast doesn't make sense since one wire looks to be in series with another bulb, but the other wire connects to the ballast. I'm not experienced in wiring so not looking to blow a bulb since they are pretty pricey.

Both yellows are in 1 end of the bulb, both blues are on the other end.

I’d agree the ballast says only 2 lamp operation.
What is the number on the bulb your using?

It's a 39W bulb, was trying to avoid 2 bulbs since this was just to help my mangrove. 2 bulbs are just overkill for the purpose sadly.

It will need to be for a 39 watt bulb, if you try to use a different one it either won't work or won't last and could even short out

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
