I have a 3’x2’x2’ 90gal mixed reef (mostly Sps). Just switched from LED to a 6 bulb ATI Sunpower. I want to add reefbrites, but not sure which fixture people are running. I ordered a UVA mini mag, but don’t think even with two of those, it would cover my tank. Mostly looking for more shimmer and night time glow.

I use the reefbrite tech blue LED on my 8 bulb Sunpower. I run like 3 hours in the am and 3 at night. Only one of each of those time periods do my T5s run consecutively to my reefbrite strip. I wanted the same effect and I'm happy with it.

Xho is one and a half of the tech Lights

Well my problem is... do I really need the XHO? They are a lot more expensive than the tech lights

Yessir! You don't need the xho for what you want. I'm not saying I won't eventually add another strip to the other side, but my tank is 4x2 and I get good coverage with one right now. It makes my corals pop! And have great shimmer!

Imo you get more pop from the corals with the xho...I saw that wwcorals..had t-5 & xho combo..it was bananas...
Bananas is good.

Tech and XHO Strips utilize the same LEDS, however there are more of them in the XHO. For tanks 24" and shallow the tech would be sufficient for supplemental light to T5 tanks. Deeper tanks would require the xho for the same.
Like ZAB said, it would be bananas with the xho, and it would be completely up to you. More LED equals More blue light.

The bulb combo of choice is the same Blue+ and Coral+ for Sps. Your Reefbrites will serve to add more blue aesthetically which is fine. I'd start at about 9-10 inches......I wouldn't go lower than 7-8" once things settle in.

Main 8 bulbs eight hours.............Reefbrites I wouldn't do more than a total of 6 hours mid day. I'd start at 4.

Those Reefbrites XHO can be overkill of that single 450nm range........it's too narrow and can cause problems with colors longer term. This is based on what I've seen on friends Sps tanks that overdue it on number of hours per day. They will also tend to turn rainbow acans and chalices orange.

I would prefer more of a mixed LED from 400-465 for supplementating.

Just for reference, this is my 1 tech led strip. Keep in mind this is also a 16" deep tank. (Excuse my algae, still in the early stages)

Thanks everyone! I decided on just buying one tech strip. Just spent $700 on the dimmable ATI and 6 bulbs. Another $300 something is out of my price range for now lol. I have to admit, all my corals look a lot better as far as size, color and PE within days of switching from only LEDs to T5.

Have you watched the video on Jason Fox's setups he has the reefbrite XHO on almost everything at 12 hours a day.

No I haven't, post it so we can check it out! Thanks Bruce
Here you go, After watching this video I realized he has enough various lighting setups he can test frags for color and growth to see what gives the better looking corals.
I assume most have watched this video by BRS since it is on R2R
After watching both of these it does not help except showed me when I was running MH and T-5 I felt I was running my MH too long and these videos confined it.

I am thinking of doing same thing I currently have RSM 130D with T5 power compacts which I want to keep is the reefbrite strip an easy "add on"? Oh I'm hoping so :) I want the T5 for coral growth but LED for the color pop and don't really want to spend $350+ on lighting upgrade right now cause just spent $ on new tunze 9001 and in tank media basket hanna checkers and a few frags (that stimulus was burning a hole in my pocket lol).
