T5ho and leds

Could I run one side of my tank led and other half my t5ho fixture? So itd be half and half. Would I need to match any specific pars? I'll be on a 75 the t5ho is a 24 inch coralife lunar 4 bulb. Won it at a frag swap yesterday.

I see no reason why you couldn't do this. You might notice a slight difference in the colors, but other than that, I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

And, if it were me, I'd put the same coral, same size frag, on either side and watch for differences in growth.

Yea. I put the t5s over my 2.5 to see color difference.. wow led makes them look better. But in the same sense I wonder if I were to dive in the ocean they wouldn't look like that at all. More what the t5s put off as color wise right?

You could probably get fairly close to the look by playing with the bulbs in the T5. My guess is adding more blue or actinic bulbs.

And yes, you are correct in that you'd see a lot of brown and tan in nature.

Yea as much as I like the looks of led I want natural looking as well. So guess wee see how I like the t5 on one side and led on the other.. give it a go and see how things differ.. it'll be another month or so before the 75 is up and fully cycled. Gotta get my overflow in place first then fill up and cycle
