T5HO, help needed

Hi so I'm from South Africa Its hard to find ATI t5 fixtures here or any T5HO fixtures besides the odyssea fixture which I have but so far I've lost a ballast and 2 lights due to failure. My LFS replaced them for me

I'm using the 80w ATI bulbs 2 Blue 1 Coral 1 Actinic

Can I use these in a Standard T5 80w fixture with standard T5 ballasts or does it have to be specified to be T5HO


My Tank is 160cm x 50cm x 50cm
It's my First tank aswell

I can't even find t5ho ballasts that drive 2x80w in my country nor can I import from Amazon since they dont ship here on most electronics

LEDs are very expensive here due to import tax on any electronics and the only brand that's not bank breaking price is Zetlight and alot of people in our forum group recommends against them due to low reliability like LEDs dying within a year cooling fans DOA etc

HO tubes are way better than normal. I would keep asking for the local store to help with this issue.

So I found a 2x80w ballast. It doesnt specifically say it's for HO. But from the information I find online T5 Bulbs that are rated at 80W are T5HO since you dont get standard t5 80w bulbs which is highly confusing. I'll rig up the ballast to 2 T5HO 80w throwaway lights and see if they fire and look fine. ;Nailbiting would be nice if a T5 specialist can come around now

They are high output

I have two old Coralife T5 fixtures and I use HO bulbs in them. That's all I can find. They work fine. They just aren't as bright as they would be in an HO fixture.

As long as there is enough par(enough bulbs for the foot print). T5HO will grow corals of every kind, tidal gardens was testing some cheap fixtures with 6500k bulbs in their grow tanks, and was getting positive growth.

You will not get a lot of colors popping Out at that spectrum but things will grow
