Hello all, I’m getting ready to set up my newest reef endeavor. The tank is 96 x 30 x 30 acrylic. I’m looking at PacSun 10bulb or ATI 8 bulb units.

Ok onto the question, would two 36” units do the job or should I go with two 48”s. Tank will be a mixed reef.

Thanks Zach

Your tank is wider and deeper. I would certainly go with two 48" 8 bulb fixtures.

That’s part of why I was thinking about the PacSun 10bulb units. The 36” was to keep light spillage off the ends of the tank to a minimum.

Anyone know if the light from a 36” and a 48 would match?

2 X 48".
Grandis.

Think coverage before spillage. I have a 7 foot tank and a 6 foot fixture and the ends were so poorly lit that I had to bolt 150W Halides onto the ends to cover them appropriately. I would use a pair of 4' fixtures.
