Curious if anyone has ever figured out what lighting is needed and the distance from the water ?

8 bulb t5 fixture
What’s the distance from the top of your dt ?
from the water line , how far down are the top of your aqua scape ?

I think Bulk Reef Supply did a video on your light you might want to check out YouTube for their video

I have a 4 bulb hybrid with 2 AI prime 16 LEDs and my fixture is right around 10” from the top of the tank, 11” to water and ~17” to the top of the rocks. I haven’t measured PAR, but I chose the height so that I could still easily work in the tank. If I didn’t care about that I’d probably go a couple inches lower to reduce the light spill into the room.

Id use a 4 bulb like 4-6" from the water. 6 bulb prob 6". Ill measure when i get home but i wanna say my 8 bulb is like 8-14" off the top of my tank and it slants back and up because of the moonlight bar. Im taking the moonlight off.

Doesn't matter how far from the water, as long as it's within 12" from water surface. The closer the better.

My 6 bulb is about 10" from the top of the tank. Another 6" or so from the top of the rock, but corals are almost to the surface.

I'm sure that I would get better PAR if I lowered it, but then I would get splash all over the fixture and I couldn't work in the tank as easily.
