I have the hybrid light with the 4 t5 bulbs. Are they enough for bta's or not? Don't wanna run my led's till I get through the bad algae phase.

You will need your led’s
T5 s can only grow softies and some lps
You will want to let your tank establish for about 6 months with stable parameters to get a nem

I had btas under power compacts grow and split t5s are plenty good
Yup. I used to have BTAs in one of my sumps running curlique florescent bulbs.

Mine in my Nuvo 40 under xr30 gen 3 is sitting in the front corner, on the bottom - I'd be surprised if its getting 50 par.

You can grow any coral you would like with the right t5 setup.

This is all wrong.
T5's will grow everything just fine. Many claim they do a better job than LED's.

Your BTA will do great under T5's
However, most recommend waiting until your tank is mature to add an anemone.
