Hey there. I've just purchased my first RODI unit and am setting up a rudimentary mixing station. I have in mind to build a small (say 24” wide X 24” deep X 36” tall) table that will need to support a 55-gallon plastic barrel full of RODI water (~450 lbs). I'm relatively handy, but I'm certainly no carpenter. My thinking is that if I use 4X4s as legs and attach them using a butt joint to a good, thick sheet of plywood (say, at least 1.5” thick), I should be fine. Of course, it would be a disaster if I’m wrong. Thoughts?

Sounds more than plenty, Ive done less and all is good- basiclly 4x4 posts for leg with 3/4" ply screwed down from the top.

I added 2x4 between the legs only so the legs would move-'ve stood on it along with a full 55 gallons. As long as the weight is evenly dispersed over the legs your fine IMO/E
