Hi i wanting to get a blue head tailspot blenny but I have seen two different color of tailspot blennies. Wondering if they change their color once they are more mature or they capture at different location?

The two different color

You'll have to look it up, but I believe since he is a blenny they have the ability to change coloration based on mood. My starry blenny changes his pattern when he's angry. Goes from a deep purple to a mostly whiteish body.

Our Tailspot changes color all the time.

Thanks. I have a midas blenny before and it can change color as well. But these two have some very distinct color.

My tailspot changed color throughout the day for the few years I had him. Mood definitely played a role as well.

Revive.

My tail spot is like the first photo and will show his stripes and different marks (I know blenny's in general all have different camouflage tactics)

But there's no way the blue head yellow body, and the brown body are the same type of tailspot blenny right?

One is an orange tailspot blenny and the other is the traditional tailspot blenny, 2 different species.
