Hi everyone,

I was thinking about getting a tailspot blenny for my RedSea REEFER XL 300, and I was wondering what conditions need to be true in order for the blenny to attain that blue coloration? Is it a display, and would I need other Tailspots in order to achieve this?

You may be seeing blue under certain lighting

I just got one today and was wondering the same thing, i.e if it was due to diet, age, etc.
here is mine 1.25” length, typ. Reef parameters, ai prime lighting a little heavy on blues.
seems like near max size of 2.5” you see more pronounced blue head and orange tails
