Tailspot or bicolor blenny

I've had both and they are both great. My bicolor (Bob) was the oldest fish in my 100 gallon before I took it down to move. He somehow managed to jump through a small feeding door in the lid to the tank, and is the worst fish loss I have been through. I now have a tailspot in my frag tank, and he is an awesome fish. The tailspot is much smaller, so I would let your tank size determine which one you choose. The tailspot would probably get lost in a large tank.

Thanks for the input it’s a 54 gallon tank I may lean towards the tailspot.....

I have a tailspot blenny in my 95 gallon and he made his home in a barnacle. He's usually in there all the time besides feeding or foraging for algae. I didn't know about the bicolor until I saw it at the store. I'd be torn between the two as well. Thinking about also getting the bicolor to add in my tank.

My Bicolor Blenny (Bicolor) was a great addition. I love how they back into caves and such. Mine made a home out of an old snail shell that is glued/built into my foam wall.

Bicolors are bigger and more aggressive. I've had bicolors attack my hand while cleaning algea.

Tailspots are much more peaceful.

My Tailspot is one of my favorite fish in the tank. Fun to watch, great personality.

Both are good. Had a tail spot for over a year. Great personality and fun to watch. If your tank is small (nano), then tail spot would be a great addition (because it’s a small fish). If there’s space, go for bicolour (because can get bigger than the tailspot).

Any of you folks have trouble with either species chewing on your corals?

Nope. They do sit (rest) on corals. But most will hide inside holes in LR. Quite an interesting behaviour. IME.

Both cool. I've had both. I sorta like the bi-color a little bit more due to half of its body is orange other black... I currently have a bi-color along with a much bigger Orange Spotted Blenny. It's a 300g so I've seen no aggression whatsoever.

I’d love me a orange spot blenny but going to pass up on temptation not comfortable with my tank size.

Starry Blenny. Great personality and as it gets more comfortable in the tank it hangs out on rocks etc. Fun to watch.

I've had both and loved both. Classic 6 in one, half dozen in the other scenario.

Regarding corals, at least one of them would nip at SPS but I'm still not sure if it was going after the coral or possibly algae since my husbandry was so freaking bad at the time lol!
