TajabaMk3 --- 1000 Gallons Ecoreefing method

Huge endeavor but it kind of looks like a coral farm, not a home aquarium.

Looking great! Thanks for sharing :)

I like the amount of "negative space" and room for swimming :) This will grow out to be even more of a stunner in no time I'm sure!

Hopefully!

Yea, I took a page out of the local thai reefers and just left a whole bunch of space. Alot of the tanks here only have "chicken wireframe rocks" that you then put the frags on and let them grow outwards. So hopefully thats how my corals would grow. But honestly from the looks of things they do need alot of trimming!

yea that might be what I was aiming for, but don't tell the mrs. that! I frag most of the colonies to fuel the hobby.

Time for some before/after shots, lets start with one of my favorite sps of all time

ORA red planet!
First got this bad boy as a frag in september 2018

as you can see, when it was young, was still displaying the low par coloration well.

Then it gradually became more red

More.......red....

Even more red

Here is what the colony looks like today, it is about 1 foot in diameter, missing some branches due to the fragging, but at least its not killing its neighbors!

My kind of tank. My project begins this weekend. Very similar tank and size but acrylic

Wish you good fortunes, only advice I can give would be to buy more wavemakers than you think you need!

Looking good. As my Big tank is now in the works, what is the average time to clean glass (in my case acrylic)? Im guessing 1/2 hour?

for the big tank, takes me around 30-45 minutes if cleaning nonstop, in hindsight I really should have made the tank stand lower but I was afraid kids would drown in it.

Is yours 4ft deep like mine? trying to figure a " best " way to reach the back wall as mine is peninsula but so big that I placed it at a 12ft wall

Fortunately, Mine is only ~32 inches deep (1 meter) Its already pretty hard for me to reach the back wall since there are plumbing in the back, the only way to reach a 48 inches is probably stairs and a snorkel mask!

Or peninsula reaching both sides. Im considering Robo Snail for cleaning

Here are some frags that have passed QC getting ready to find a spot to grow them in the main tank :D

In the mean time, here's a red table for your pleasure, she's around 10 inches across. For some reason, it is only growing the anchor holding it to the ridge as of late.

At that price I'd just hire someone honestly, but then again labor is cheaper here. XD

edit: it says the robosnail can go up to 12mm thickness......I don't think that would be safe for us to use man
