taking down my tank

ok so i’m gonna be taking down my tank and replacing it with a waterbox 10 instead

but heres my question how do i set up a holding tank for coral and fish and like +100 snails

or should i just cycle a new one and let them live in there till i can set up the 10

I am doing the same thing now. Replacing my 140 with a 300 gallon. So my plan is to move all the fish, rocks and water to 2,75 gallon tanks I have and some 30 gallon food grade plastic containers. Then move the 140 to the other side of the room and put 1/2 the water back and add new water(so a 50% water change) and fish back. Add the 140 tanks rock to the 50 gallon garbage cans I have cycling more rock. Set up the 300, add 70 gallons of old tank water,some media from the 140 sump and the rocks and let it cycle. Once the 300 does its thing, start moving corals, fish and the rest of the filter media from sump from the 140 to the 300. Then tear down the 140 and sell it all.

thanks for the help and yeah i would love to keep everything but a mixed reef is hard for me right now
so i’m gonna just switch it up to low flow lps and softies and get rid of my blenny who torments everything

25% water change. Unless you use all the water from the 140. Not trying to be a smart*** just trying to help you if you indeed wanted a 50ish percent wc. I plan on doing something like this also when I upgrade to a bigger tank!
