Hi all!
My name is Andre and I've been keeping aquariums for several years. Planted community tanks, high-tech shrimp tanks, small aquascaped tanks, that sort of stuff. I've kept everything from tiny little microrasbora to large knifefish.
I've wanted to get into saltwater tanks ever since the beginning, but the cost factor has always scared me away. The sad thought is that if I took all the money I've put into my freshwater tanks over the years I would probably already have had several hundred gallons of reef tanks haha
I'm fairly meticulous with my tanks. I closely monitor my TDS, pH, nitrogen compounds, hardness, CO2, kH/gH, all that good stuff. I use RODI water and reconstitute it with measured-out minerals and such so that my water parameters are exactly what I want. I figure I now have the basic aquarium knowledge and attention to detail needed to successfully keep a saltwater setup. So I signed up for this forum so I can pick the brains of all you veterans haha
