Talbots Damsel

I have had a Talbots damsel in my Invert and Coral QT tank for about 4 months now and i'm really starting to like his personality and his colors. I'm thinking of moving him to the Display Tank but being a damsel has me skeptical.

I have a 120 gallon Reef with all peaceful fish 2 Snowflake Ocellaris Clowns, 2 Pajama Cardinalfish, Firefish, Starry Blenny and a Ruby Red Dragonet.

Again my tank is very peaceful with no issues. Is throwing him into the tank going to cause issues. Or will he be ok. From reading it says they are one of the more peaceful damsels.

Anyone on have some input? Maybe you have one and can help me make my decision.

I've found talbots to be well behaved in a reef. They do claim a small territory, but aren't relentless about defending it.

I'm on my 2nd one. The first one was well behaved...the 2nd one...after about a month in the tank decided he wanted to be an excavator. He's dug all the sand from around the base of the rocks on the outer edges all the way around my rock stack. No idea why he does this. If I move the sand back I see him later pushing it back out. Other than that he doesn't bother anyone at all.

ok that's great to hear. But i also hear they eat copepods. If true will that be an issue for my Ruby Red Dragonet because thats all he eats. My Talbot is a pig and eats anything in QT so i'm sure he'll never be hungry. (I Hope)

That's to funny. I guess my only concern would be with my clowns but again they show no signs of aggression now and can't judge how the damsel will be because he is in a tank all by himself right now.

They are site-oriented, so any pods they do eat would be in their territory. Leaving plenty of other area for the dragonet to hunt.

awesome thanks. Just everything is going great right now don't want to stir the pot, yet i love the little fish and think he'd be great in the main tank. I have a acclimation box i can put him inside the main tank to see how they all interact before setting him free and crossing fingers lol

Thanks...I've got a pair of clowns and they only pay attention to him if he swims up and literally gets up in their space and they just chase him off.

I'm gonna end up with a few Damsels in my 203g when it goes up. Notably a yellow tail. I've always been fascinated with those. Also a 4-stripe. Those were the first two fish, in that order, I populated my ooooold 75g with when I made my first real attempt at a tank. You might call it a shout out!
