Recommended by a friend on this forum that many people are documenting their reef tanks and share their experience, I decided to start mine here.

I started keep reef tank probably 4 years ago with a 2 ft cube tank. Tanked crashed a few times for various occasions. Eg. During an overseas trip with pump fail, fluctuating parameters, never check salinity.

This is the tank I kept 4 years ago. Haha.. I was thinking.. Not too bad. [emoji57]

Use This One.jpg
Really? Haha..

Anyway back then I started the hobby right from sps tank without knowing much. Spent a lot buying some frags from a local reefer. Bought wrong equipments etc.

I am digging some of the old pictures here to see what I had last time.

Very nice. Did you like the 2ft cube dimensions?? Can you list pros and cons? I'm looking to getting similar dimension, maybe even a tad bigger.

Very glad you asked.

If you want to keep sps dominated tank, 2ft cube is rather too small in the sense that the parameters will fluctuate easily if anything goes wrong.

I would say at least having a 3 ft with sump will be minimum for keeping a sps tank for the sake of convenience. Eg having a sump to place equipments and large water volume to keep all parameters changimg gradually.

Just took a pic of my tank.. One of my favorite views.

It is very therapeutic to see it all the time. The centre part is the royal blue millie which I like it most in my tank for now. [emoji2]
