Hey everyone I added a yellow tang to my tank yesterday and would like to make sure I didn’t skip a step. Its been skittish since he went in and has largely been hidden in the rocks, although I have seen him come out quite a bit to pick at rocks. He’s a really small little guy so I’m really worried about his well being. Is it normal for him to not come out for a while? I’m also sitting on the couch right next to him which I’m sure isn’t helping. Tank has one other inhabitant (clownfish) that went over to sniff but hasn’t left his house (hammer colony).

I tried feeding pellets last night but it didn’t go for it. I need to run to the store to pick up some nori later today. Any other food recommendations?

How big is the tang, the Clown, and the tank?

Clown may be intimidating him, or he could just be settling in

Tang and clown are both pretty small. Roughly the same size at1” or so. Tank is a Waterbox 20g (obviously not a long-term situation. 120g is in the works) but they’re both tiny inside the tank. Tank is 6-8 months old. I’ve been up and moving around more the past hour or so and he’s come out and picked the rocks since I’m not right there. Really starting to think he’s settling in...I’m just a nervous person worried about the expensive fish haha.

Just acclimating. We all worry. Put some nori in on a clip 1x a day jic.
