So I’m looking at different fish I want to purchase. I’ve looked at a kole yellow eye tang and a one spot foxface. I really like both and it says minimum tank size for both is 70 gallons. My question is, since I have 90 gallon tank I’m wondering if buying both would be too small of a space. Does anyone have success with this specific combo?

I've got both and a couple of other tangs too. I have a 125 though. The Tang should be fine and I love mine. He spends all day cleaning the tank, and he's a real character. My foxface has gotten pretty big. Not sure if he will be happy in your tank or mine in the long run. Hope this helps.

that’s my dilemma. On liveaquaria it says a one spot foxface is minimum 70 but a foxface lo is minimum 125. They look exactly the same so I’m not sure what the difference is

Forgot to mention. I've had them both for quite awhile, and they get along fine.

Did you purchase them at the same time to introduce together or separate?
Got the foxface in September 18 and the kole in November. I did try to make sure they were about the same size. I've never had any problem.

Sorry. it was 2017 that I got those guys.

Did/Do you quarantine any of your fish before putting him in your main tank? I don’t have a quarantine tank and after reading about it. I’m wondering if that’s why my yellow tang due to little or no slime coat.

Live aquaria is screwy there, in my opinion. Folks on forums will relay that information from LA too.

One has a blotch. They are basically the same fish, and used to be considered the same species. One journal has S. vulpinus growing 5cm longer at max, but common length of them is essentially the same. I've seen large (6-8") individuals of each species. I think 70 gallons is too cramped for a 6-8" fish with venomous spines...just my opinion.

I have a Magnificent Foxface in with a similar sized Convict tang and a small Tomini tang. The Foxface and the Convict seem to be best friends.

I have a variety of tangs and a magnificient foxface in a 220 with no aggression.

Yeah. I think I’m gonna hold out for awhile. I only have a 90. So I have a feeling even one might be kinda tight. Both is probably a no go
