Tang digging hole??

Seems like my Kole tang is digging a hole under a cave? He’s pretty healthy, eats and grazes lots, comes out to swim… but he also seems pretty occupied by this hold he’s digging… any idea? The spot he’s digging in is his favorite hiding spot… is he expanding it or something?

My Desjardini also dug a big hole under his/her favorite spot. Although not at all related, in my experience as a fisher lady, our local perch will do the same thing when getting ready to spawn. So I figured that was what my tang was doing. He or she still likes that hole to be dug out, so I don't bother it. It is after all our job to make ours pets as happy as we can, right?
