so i have an achilles done with qt but hes still in there.
im setting up a brand new DT.

my question is can i put the achilles in the DT first?because im planning to get a PBT soon. or should i just wait for the PBT to be done with qt treatment and then put them at the same time.

its a 225 gallon system. and also planning to get yellow, purple, sailfin in the future.

Putting the achilles and powder blue in simultaneously is best. Howevee, they are both significantly more aggressive than the other species you plan on adding as well. So a social acclimation box, as well as adding them together, will help the other tangs when you add them.

Having just those two fish even if added concurrently could go horribly wrong, as they will be able to single each other out.

Also, for a newly set up tank the acanthurus tangs (such as these) would be added last for hardiness reasons. As mentioned, that would have been ideal for aggression reasons as well.

Thanks everyone. so i should just get all the other tangs i want first and then add the PBT and achilles at the same time right?
my only problem is qt tank. i would have to buy a 50 gallon tank to qt purple, pbt, yellow and couple other tangs. is the 50 gallon enough? or 40?

That depends on how established your tank is. If it's not very mature that bioload is likely to tank your tank, no pun intended.
