Tang food

I can't seem to get my yellow eye kole tang to eat ocean nutrition nori. It appears to prefer grazing on the algae it finds around the tank. How can I make sure the tang gets the proper nutrition?
If there is enough algae throughout the tank I wouldn't be too worried. If he doesn't seem interested in that type of nori whatsoever, you could try to switch nori types.

What nori should I try next? Would regular sushi nori be fine?

I have used several brands of nori and currently use sushi nori that I buy on Amazon. My tomini tang, which in the same genus as yours, has never shown any interest in nori.
As long as he is picking at the glass and rocks and eats when you feed the tank he should be fine even though he isn’t eating nori.

My LFS recommended sushi nori as it is a lot cheaper and is ultimately the same thing. They don't actually bother selling the "aquarium grade" stuff.
What they did say was to ensure that there were no additives or preservatives in it although as I've only ever seen 100% seaweed varieties I'm not sure what unwanted extras you might find.

I feed this from amazon. Purple, naso, yellows, convict, hippo and my flame angel all eat it. 20230721_124552.jpg

sometimes its a “monkey see, monkey do” thing with fish …in tanks where I have a single Tang I can never get them to tough those sheets, in another tank it becomes a feeding frenzy and this includes a scopas, two spot, purple and idol (sorta tang)

All good advice here but my observation has been bristletooth tangs don’t eat nori off the clips like acanthurus and zebrasoma tangs do. They just seem to prefer grazing off the rocks for some reason. I wouldn’t get too frustrated by it.

could be no rhyme nor reason to it….All my tangs and angels go nuts for it in one tank , in another tank, nothing touches it….
Can someone school me how to get a vid off my iphone and post it?
