hi so i got done with copper treatment couple weeks ago. I just used water changes and carbon to remove the copper in the quarantine.
Now i see a white spot again which im pretty sure is ich. Must have cross contaminated or something.

My question is can i do copper treatment again in the same tank? I really wanna do TTM but i dont have any more space.

Yes you can use the same tank. Double check your copper levels, make sure you have the correct test kit for the copper you are using. Are there any other tanks nearby that have ich?

So im good to go, just dose the copper right? No need to sterilize it ?
Im using coppersafe with api test kit. Other qt tank is at least 15 feet away.
Ive beem really careful with cross contaminating. I even rinse and air dry the food container where i mix food with selcon every usage. Guess i just have to restart again and pay closer attention.

By the way, after every water change. Do i need to sterilize the siphon hose?

Is it just the one spot? How long has it been on him? In the same place?

Agree. For me my arm cross contaminated when I went from tank to tank, even!

its one spot on both sides, coincidentally on the same place. it just appeared 2 days ago.
what prompted me to say its ich is, i think i saw him scratching himself to the pvc once or twice for the first time since i got him.

it will be very hard to capture but ill try now.see if i can get it. its so tiny i can hardly even see it. but its there. and i dont think its sand because i dont have sand it qt.

It could be a bump, slight infection, Lympho or something else other than a parasite/worm. If its in the same spot, on both sides of the fish, that would be a heck of a coincidence. You sure its not just his barb you are seeing? o_O

If you are doing a 30 day copper treatment you need to keep your DT fish free for 72 days because you still have ich in the tank. I'm having the same problem myself.

pretty sure its not his barb haha. can lymph look like ich?
its almost on the same spot on both sides. but on one side its a tiny bit bigger than the other. but its still very small.
is there any other way to confirm its ich?

Lympho often starts out small and can look like ich.

If these are ich trophonts you are seeing, they should remain 3-7 days before disappearing.

oh i see!
i cant get a clear picture. but it looks like a super small grain of salt. its the best i can describe it.
so my best bet is to do copper treatment again right? besides TTM

If it does turn out to be ich, then copper or TTM would be best.

I actually think its velvet. Today, tang is swimming against the flow of the wavemaker. This is sign of velvet right?( ive already done 2 rounds of prazi before so i think its not flukes)
and velvet is much smaller than ich right? is it possible?
ive done 30 day copper. somehow tang still contracted velvet. i mustve cross contaminated something.

Yes, smaller and perfectly round. Swimming into the flow is a strong indicator of velvet. Move fast.

If you suspect velvet, I would get it up to full therapeutic ASAP. Use a test kit to confirm your dosage.

Does this look like ~2ppm? I took a gallon and dosed 2mL/per gallon. im gonna base the qt tank to this.
